About & contact
Eliowise is an educational federal income tax simulator operated by ELIO LLC. It helps people explore how salary, bonuses, eligible pretax benefits, retirement contributions, and deductions interact within a simplified federal income tax model. You can compare alternatives side by side and edit assumptions to see what drives the difference.
What the simulator is designed to do
The tool is designed for scenario comparisons: exploring a raise, comparing traditional and Roth 401(k) contributions, or seeing how a deduction changes modeled taxable income. It does not prepare or file tax returns, determine your eligibility for deductions, or replace professional advice. It is not a payroll service, a refund calculator, or an investment return forecast.
Sources and transparency
Each tax year links to its source beside the simulator’s tax settings. IRS-based defaults and projected values are labeled separately. Changing a bracket or deduction switches the displayed status to a custom projection. Our calculation guide explains the formulas, provides reproducible examples, and lists important exclusions so that you can judge whether the model fits your question.
The default salary is an illustrative starting input, not a statement about your circumstances or an official measure of U.S. median household income. Calculations run in your browser; see our privacy notice for saved-data controls.
Contact ELIO LLC
Send questions, accessibility feedback, and correction requests to support@eliowise.com. For a calculation issue, include the tax year, filing status, the assumption you believe is incorrect, and a source if available. Use fictional example amounts instead of sending tax documents, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive personal information.
Eliowise is independent of the Internal Revenue Service and other government agencies. References to IRS publications identify sources; they do not imply government endorsement or a guarantee that the simulator covers your complete tax situation.
